An inclusive approach to achieving
Personalized Mentoring
Cultivate meaningful relationships with our Achievers to provide guidance, motivation, and support as we steer students into a gateway of opportunities. We achieve this by focusing on three main areas: professional, educational, and personal growth. Through mentoring, we help students achieve their personal and career goals, enable a growth mindset, explore opportunities, and develop contacts in their field of interest. We hope to foster resilient students, who feel confident in their endless abilities to take on the world.
Academic Tutoring
Support emergent bilinguals in obtaining assistance in specialized areas during and after school with quick turnaround times for questions on homework, assignments, test prep, and more. Our tutors come from diverse backgrounds to offer their expertise in math, science, social studies, reading and writing, in addition to standardized testing preparation. Through academic tutorship, we help students succeed in their academic goals and advance educational equity.
Providing Resources
Catalyze our collaboration with other nonprofits to pursue systemic social change within Gainesville to address lack of access to healthcare, food insecurity, financial hardships, and social justice issues that disproportionately impact this community. Recognizing the complex socio-economic and political issues many emergent bilinguals face, we collaborate beyond our organizational boundaries to expand access to healthcare, legal services, and other advocacy programs.
Future Planning
Serve as a compass in assisting students navigate and explore their future beyond high school. We curate activities that encourage students to map out their future and discover their passions in life. We also help students build their resume, complete college applications, find scholarships, and network with professionals. Furthermore, in 2020 we launched our Career Speaker Series, which inspires students by exposing them to speakers with similar backgrounds who have overcome barriers and achieved their goals.
