ESOL Achievers is a nonprofit organization based in Gainesville, Florida. ESOL Achievers’ mission is to ensure immigrant high school students, specifically those in the ESOL Program, graduate high school and forge their unique path to achieve their dreams. We are seeking a content/design manager for our organization’s website, which includes a blog and research/insights center, an email marketing platform, and which will need to tie seamlessly with our social media channels. The website will be already created, and we need someone to help maintain it.

ESOL Achievers is seeking a social media content creator, strategist and social-impact communicator to manage our social accounts and implement an authentic and engaging content strategy for our organization. As an intern, this person will work closely with the Marketing Director to promote our organization, engage potential mentors, tutors, and donors. They will get ownership over social channels and visibility into their performance metrics.

Veronica leads our Mentorship at EA. She’s a caring and creative leader. Outside of EA, she believes in the power of social responsibility and working with the community. Veronica is a trained Crisis Counselor and has responded to over one hundred people through the Crisis Text line.
Veronica is a graduate student at the University of Florida. She got involved with ESOL Achievers her freshman year in college and has never let go. She graduated with an International Studies major focused on the Middle East, and she now is pursuing a Masters in Latin American Studies. Her current research interests include social entrepreneurship, human rights, and corporate social responsibility. Veronica is a language lover and can speak five languages. She has a passion for people and the planet.
Maria Paulina emigrated from Colombia to the United States at the age of eight. She has since then been a trailblazer in her family in innumerable ways, one of which was becoming the first University of Florida graduate in the family. She studied Public Relations and currently works as a Marketing Manager for PepsiCo. Her heart has always beat for giving back to others, and out of a beautiful friendship with Laura, she became involved with the inception of ESOL Achievers in 2011. After graduating UF in 2014, she moved away from Florida but always remained connected to the mission of ESOL Achievers. She now lives in Chicago, IL and leads Marketing for EA. She is an Achiever.
Eni Laska, the Treasurer of ESOL Achievers Inc., is the creative force behind EA’s compelling videos. Since 2013, she has been deeply involved with ESOL Achievers, dedicating herself to helping students thrive. Eni’s inspiring journey began when she immigrated from Albania to Jacksonville, FL, in 2008, making English her fourth language after Albanian, Italian, and Spanish.
Currently, Eni serves as a Regulatory Reporting, Risk, and Control Oversight Executive at Macquarie Group, representing the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Risk Advisory group. Her impressive career includes roles such as Business Line AFC Wealth Management Compliance Officer at Deutsche Bank and Financial Crimes Compliance Associate in the Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young LLP (EY). As a first-generation college student, she earned her B.S. in Business Administration (Marketing) and B.A. in Spanish from the University of Florida. Eni’s dedication to ESOL Achievers and her remarkable professional achievements showcase her unwavering commitment to empowering others.
Jasmine is a 4th-year student at the University of Florida majoring in Microbiology and Cell Sciences. She grew up in Tampa, Florida, where her upbringing cultivated her passion for working with the underserved community and mentoring students from all backgrounds. She joined ESOL Achievers her freshman year of college and believes this organization defined her college experience as she discovered her life passion for advocacy. She leads our Community Outreach at EA by building coalitions between non-profits in the Gainesville community to ensure ESOL students have access to the necessary resources to overcome systemic barriers. She aspires to become a pediatric physician who serves underserved patient populations.
Laura Mutis is the founder and Executive Director of ESOL Achievers, a Florida based non-profit organization working to bridge the opportunity divide for ESOL (ESL) students in the city of Gainesville, FL. Since 2011, ESOL Achievers has been working to transform the career and educational path for hundreds of ESOL students, providing access to tools and resources, including mentoring and tutoring, to graduate high school and continue their journey.
Concurrently, Laura serves as the Workforce Development Senior Associate in Global Philanthropy at JPMorgan Chase. As part of this work, Laura supports JPMC’s $350 million global investment in education and workforce training systems to promote economic opportunity and reduce inequities in labor market outcomes groups that have historically faced significant barriers to accessing opportunity. Prior to this role, Laura was a core member of the central strategy team within Corporate Responsibility focused on the firm’s philanthropic strategy and activities.
Prior to joining JPMorgan’s Foundation, Laura Mutis worked as a Philanthropy Advisor with The Philanthropy Centre, a global team that provides individuals and families with insights and services to help them meet their philanthropic goals. Laura worked with clients across Latin America and the US to share best practices from across the field and provide unique opportunities for clients to learn from thought leaders in their areas of interest.
Laura received her bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science summa cum laude and a certificate in finance from The University of Florida. She has also studied economics at L’Institut d’études Politiqués Sciences Po in Paris, France.
A native of Colombia, Laura has lived in Miami, Paris, New York and speaks native Spanish and fluent English.
